About Scotian Pens

About the Artist

I started making and selling pens in 2002 when pen making was in its infancy. The first venue was a Christmas craft sale at a local hospital in Halifax. The administrator said I could come if I brought my own table to display my pens. I had six styles of pens and my pen career was off to a good start. Today, as you can see by my website,  I have multiple pen styles and more on the horizon. I have grown from those few pen styles to have the largest wooden pen site in Canada, with innovative designs and exotic woods from around the world.

My passion is pen making and I look forward each day to making more pens. It’s just not all about turning pens….that’s the production and technical side. I enjoy searching the internet for interesting woods, visiting local wood suppliers, participating in local gallery exhibits and conversing with pen enthusiasts all over the world via the internet.

The third element of my pen passion is interacting with you, the customer, in person, on the telephone or e-mail. I delight in talking with my customers, sharing my pen stories and helping to solve some of their gift or corporate pen requirements.

I was a retailer with the T.Eaton Company for 29 years and that was just my preparatory phase for getting me into the pen world. I hope my pen journey continues for many years. If you see a pen style and would like it in another type of wood, please contact me at scotianpens@eastlink.ca or 902-443-5087 . With almost twenty years of pen making experience, we welcome your inquiries.
