As a graduate of Acadia University '65, I had been on the lookout for some wood from my alma mater to make a commemorative pen. 

I was fortunate that a former professor at Acadia and President of my Nova Woodturners Guild , Dianne Looker, offered me a piece of wood from a bench in Patterson Hall.

I am proud of my Valley heritage, having been born and nurtured in the Annapolis Valley, so I included a centre-band of Annapolis Valley applewood.
